About
Next Step Mentoring
The fog of the college athletic recruitment process is thick, and the athletic recruitment process can be confusing. Future college student-athletes and their families or guardians may not have the necessary information to make the “right” decisions on the students’ higher education and athletic college path. Some parents may not know the questions to ask which may lead to a more robust financial package to alleviate the cost of higher education for their loved ones. There is much at stake for the prospective student-college athlete and their families.
Next Step Mentoring (NSM) was established to shed light on the college athletic recruitment process through a virtual mentorship platform. To be clear, NSM is not a recruiting company. How does NSM work? Future college student-athletes and the athletes’ families or guardians, interact with a current college student-athlete in a one-hour session for $80 (USD). The session may be for a one-time mentorship and more frequent 30-minute sessions for $45 (USD). may be purchased. This mentorship interaction between the student-athletes is an invaluable way to learn about the college athletic recruitment system from an individual who has already experienced the college student-athlete recruitment process.
Next Step Mentoring
At NSM, future student-athletes will be able to select from a diverse group of college student-athletes from various NCAA sanctioned sports and who attend various colleges from across the nation. During the mentorship session, the aspiring college student-athlete, and her family/guardians, can share concerns, questions and receive invaluable information from the college student-athletes perspective on the college student-athlete recruitment.
College student-athletes working for NSM are not recruiters for their universities. The mentor-mentee interactions will focus exclusively on the process of college student-athlete recruitment and the mentors will offer suggestions to prepare for the process.
